This is National Work Zone Awareness Week (April 26-30, 2021)) and if you live in the Pierre and Fort Pierre area, there are many construction projects to be aware of.

Dean VanDeWiele, engineer with the South Dakota Department of Transportation in Pierre, says a major project is replacing the bridge over the Missouri between Fort Pierre and Pierre.

VanDeWiele It is recommended that you review your route prior to departure to see if there are any areas under construction. You can do this by checking out the sd511.org website or the SD511 mobile app.
