The construction industry plays a key role in building and improving our communities.

It is the fastest growing industry in West Michigan with plenty of opportunity for interested talent.

If you are considering a career in a trade, now is an ideal time. As older generations retire, there is a constant need for people who can take on various construction-related roles.

According to the state labor marketing, the industry is forecasting a 6.1% increase in employment between 2018 and 2028.

The construction industry offers people the opportunity to develop into great careers without formal training or degrees.

According to the West Michigan Works 2021 Hot Jobs List, some job titles such as construction worker, landscape crew chief, and roofer do not require formal training.

Once you get started in the industry, there are many opportunities to grow your career. An apprenticeship is a great way to get on-the-job training and study in the classroom while earning a paycheck.

Once you have completed training and passed the required exams, you will have a professional certificate that will allow you to grow within the industry.

The key to success isn’t always a four-year degree. Employers want to train and develop employees who are eager to learn and who work hard.
