In Warwick, contracts were exchanged for a 26,000 m² planning and construction project for the pharmaceutical manufacturer and distributor Manx Healthcare.
The purpose-built industrial / warehouse facility will be located on 1.25 acres known as 8003 at Tournament Fields.
Manx Healthcare will be relocating from its current premises on Wedgnock Lane in Warwick.
The move will allow the company to expand with an environmental and cold storage facility necessary for the import and deportation of pharmaceuticals.
Tournament Fields has attracted a mix of global and regional occupants. Semcon, Eagle Burgmann, Geberit, GFA, 3P Innovation and Scholastic have all moved to the park in recent years and some have set it up as their UK headquarters.
Paul Shanley, director of Clowes Developments, who owns the property, said, “We are excited to welcome Manx Healthcare to Tournament Fields. We worked closely with their team to develop a program that would provide a bespoke facility to suit their long-term needs. We look forward to seeing Manx Healthcare thrive in its brand new purpose-built space. “
Richard Taylor, Chairman of Manx Healthcare added, “This significant investment demonstrates our confidence in the future growth of our family business as the primary supplier of essential medicines for the NHS and a rapidly growing range of health products for the care of the NHS public.”
Due to the high demand for Class A units in the region, Clowes Developments is planning the speculative construction of an additional 19,000 square meter warehouse / production building.
The contractors Benniman Construction Group will start the preparatory work in June. The building can be ready for occupancy by the spring of next year on a property or lease basis.
