A contract manager who joined Persimmon Homes less than four years ago received a top award in the home builder’s national annual Achievers Awards.

Forty-five year old Franz Brange, who works in Persimmon’s north London office in Maidenhead, received the Duncan Davidson Award from regional chairman Martyn Clark in a socially distant presentation at a development in Thame.

The Duncan Davidson Award is named after the founder of Persimmon Homes and aims to honor someone who has demonstrated his entrepreneurial flair and spirit.

Franz, who lives in Harrow, is originally from Laois, Ireland, and joined Persimmon in April 2017. It was nominated for the award by Charlie Jury, the North London Construction Director.

Charlie said, “Franz is a popular and respected part of the construction team who is always looking for solutions rather than problems.

“He has been the project manager for our flagship site in Harrow View West for the past three years, which won Development of the Year for the region in the 2019 Premier Guarantee Awards, which we are very proud of.

“During the Covid-19 pandemic, Franz responded quickly to the implementation of the Covid-19 segregation and protection measures, which a number of industries enlisted to help implement these measures at minimal cost to the company, while demonstrating Persimmon’s commitment to protecting our workforce and customers.

“He always goes far beyond this and focuses particularly on quality, health and safety. His knowledge and commitment certainly make my work easier.”

With a technical background, Franz moved from Ireland to the UK in 2009. After working on high-end projects in and around London for a number of years, including three years in Belgravia Square, the opportunity arose to join Persimmon and Franz joined the company as Site Manager.

Today he is responsible for five developments in the area, including St. Andrews Park in Uxbridge, Harrow View West in Harrow and Sycamore Rise in Thame.

“Joining Persimmon was quite a change of direction and a huge adjustment for me, but from day one I felt like part of the family in North London. “It was a great step for me – there is no better job satisfaction than helping someone create their dream home and handing it over to them with pride.

“Winning the Duncan Davidson Award was a complete surprise that came out of the blue. I didn’t even know Charlie nominated me, but I’m really excited about it and that my dedication and hard work was recognized. “
