The Build Group selected Buildots’ computer vision technology to track construction site data and progress on three projects in the United States, including the M2 tower in San Francisco.

The AI construction technology company uses computer vision to capture every detail of the expansion phase and provide contractors with objective, data-driven insights.

Digital twin

Buildots uses 360-degree cameras mounted on hard hats to capture images and every aspect of the fitting phase during bi-weekly site visits. Using the data from these recordings and the customer’s BIM model, Buildots can create a continuously updated digital twin of the project.

With this objective data, every faulty installation, incomplete task or other deviation from the schedule is automatically marked and thus enables a complete overview of the project. In addition, according to Buildots, project managers have a comprehensive view of all activities through detailed reports that help them optimally manage resources and avoid costly delays.

“The complex nature of managing the thousands of details and dozens of trades on a job site is the biggest challenge in getting a project to run on time and on budget,” said Chad Krause, vice president of operations, Build Group.

“As we continue to successfully win large-scale business, a core part of our strategy is to use technology like Buildots to give us an advantage by working as effectively and efficiently as possible at the highest quality levels.”

Buildots claims that its fully digitized construction control room gives superintendents, calculators, dispatchers and the entire team a bird’s eye view of development, and on-demand project status and analysis by a number of categories including trade, individual subcontracting activities and on-site location .

It also shows the percentage of each activity completed and identifies the most pressing issues so that they can be prioritized.

“On construction projects the size of the M2 tower, it is invaluable for contractors to know the exact progress of every activity and team in real time in order to complete construction as quickly and efficiently as possible.”

The Build Group will use Buildots on the M2 tower and two other projects in California and Washington state. M2 is a 19-story residential tower in the heart of San Francisco and is part of a larger development (5M).

“Build Group is an early technology adopter in the construction industry, so it is extremely gratifying that they have chosen Buildots to provide an end-to-end control solution for their projects,” added Roy Danon, Co-Founder and CEO of Buildots , add.
