ECOPact, the industry’s broadest range of fresh concrete, is now available in 24 markets and covers all of Holcim’s five global regions. Holcim has reached this milestone as it marks the first anniversary of the global launch of ECOPact, an important pillar in the company’s Net Zero Journey. Holcim expands ECOPact’s net zero ambitions and pledges to produce climate-neutral concrete worldwide by 2050.
Jan Jenisch, CEO: ‘I am committed to promoting low-carbon and circular construction solutions to enable a net-zero future. The growing global demand for ECOPact is a great example of how we are helping, from Argentina to the United States, to build a greener world. I congratulate our teams on this and look forward to further successes on the way to making Holcim the world market leader for innovative and sustainable building solutions. ‘
ECOPact green concrete is sold at a range of low carbon levels starting with a 30% lower carbon footprint compared to standard concrete (CEM I). The sustainability profile is based on low-emission raw materials and the decarbonization of operations, including the use of alternative fuels.
On the occasion of its first anniversary, ECOPact fresh concrete is now available worldwide in the following 24 markets: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Jordan, Mexico, Poland , Qatar, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Great Britain and the USA.
Its success is particularly successful in countries such as India, one of the company’s largest ready-mixed concrete markets. ECOPact sales volumes in this country increased by 70% in just one month, shortly after its launch.
ECOPact also offers a CO2-neutral solution, ECOPact Zero, in which the last mile of process-related emissions is currently offset by offsetting as a transition mechanism to complete CO2 neutrality. Where the official conditions permit, ECOPact + products integrate recycled construction and demolition materials, thus further closing the resource cycle.
