Four construction companies in Greater Noida have been fined a total of Rs 3 lakh for disregarding National Green Tribunal (NGT) pollution guidelines, officials said Friday.
“Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) CEO Narendra Bhooshan said the fine should be waived within a week and any repeated offense would result in double the penalty,” an official statement said.
The construction companies Apex Alphabet and French Apartments each received a fine of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 each for Moni Construction and French Apartments, GNIDA said.
The authority instructed the companies that had violated the regulations on the storage and accommodation of building materials to transfer the amount of the fine to the NGT, the statement said.
