I-35 AT POSEY ROAD.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will build a new flyover on I-35 over Posey Road, add two new U-turns in each direction on Posey Road, perform ramp reversals, and convert two-way front streets into one-way streets.

Currently, the main lanes of I-35 run under Posey Road. With the new configuration, the main lanes of I-35 will drive over Posey Road.

This project is made possible by a partnership between Hays County / TxDOT and is expected to cost $ 31.7 million, funded by TxDOT.

Construction on I-35 and Posey Road began in February 2019 and construction is expected to be completed in mid-2021. The project contractor is Webber, LLC.

I-35 FROM RM 150 TO KYLE CROSSING

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will reconfigure the northbound entry / exit ramps between RM 150 and Kyle Crossing. Improvements include reversing the entry / exit ramps north, reconstructing the front road north, adding new expanded lanes between the entry / exit ramps, and building a new front road bridge over Plum Creek.

The estimated cost of construction is $ 21.9 million and is funded by the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) and TxDOT. Construction began in September 2020 and is expected to be completed in early 2022. Hunter Industries, Ltd is the contractor for this project.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures on Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive and the road bridge over Williamson Creek. Improvements are also being made to bicycles and pedestrians, and new safety lighting is being installed.

New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive. The main lanes of I-35 will be widened to accommodate shoulders and widened entry / exit lanes to allow for a smoother merge onto I-35.

This major project is valued at $ 78.8 million. Construction began in July 2016 with expected completion in late 2020. The contractor for this project is OHL, USA, Inc.

I-35 VON RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes the rebuilding of main lanes and front roads as well as the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.

The I-35 from Rundberg Lane to US 290 East costs an estimated $ 124.2 million and is made possible by the Texas Clear Lanes Congestion Relief Fund.

Construction began in January 2018 with an expected completion date in mid-2021. The contractor for this project is JD Abrams.

I-35 AT PARMER LANE

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Reduced congestion, improved mobility in Parmer Lane and Lamar Boulevard, operational efficiency, more reliable travel times, lower fuel consumption.

The estimated cost of this project is funded by the Texas Clear Lanes and the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) at an estimated cost of $ 24.6 million.

Construction began in July 2019 with an expected completion by mid-2021. Primoris Services Corporation is the project contractor.

I-35 FROM GRAND AVENUE PARKWAY TO SH-45 NORTH

PROJECT ACTIVITY | Improvements include reversing ramps, building an expanded entry / exit lane on the I-35 main roads heading north under SH-45 North along the front road, installing high-mast lighting, and improving Picadilly Drive and I. -35-Front Street.

The projected cost is estimated at $ 8.2 million and funded by CAMPO and TxDOT. Construction work will begin in August 2020 and is expected to be completed in mid-2021. The project contractor is Jordan Foster Construction.
