The construction division of Larsen & Toubroled has won a number of contracts in India and abroad for its various business areas.
Energy transmission and distribution:
The power transmission and distribution business has received an order to build a 220 kV transmission line in connection with system reinforcement in the Ladakh region. The construction and execution of this system includes traversing hilly terrain prone to avalanches and loading ladders with ice.
Another turnkey contract for urban power distribution in the city of Ayodhya was received as part of the Integrated Power Development Scheme.
In Dubai City, an order was received for the planning, delivery, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of a 132/11 kV transformer station with the associated cable work.
In addition, two transmission line packages were secured in Africa.
In Thailand, a package was won that includes the delivery and construction of a new gas-insulated substation and associated substation extensions. This work will increase the security of the transmission network and support the increasing demand for electricity in the upper north of the country.
Buildings and factories:
The Factories division has received a prestigious contract from a leading cement manufacturer in India to build a 1.8 MTPA grinding unit in Dolvi, Maharashtra. The scope includes construction, machine and equipment installation work.
At around 2:45 pm, Larsen & Toubro was trading at Rs 1,606.70 apiece, down Rs 12.4, or 0.77%, on Sensex.
