A Prattville man with a traffic sign at a construction site was hit by an SUV and killed Monday, officials from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency say.

The single vehicle wreck occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Alabama 191, about two miles south of Jemison.

According to an ALEA press release, Brandon F. Barber, 33, was fatally injured when a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by 29-year-old Jemison’s Dylan Ryan Green, “refused to give in to the traffic control sign that Barber was holding at a construction site.” . . “

Barber was taken to St. Vincent’s in Clanton, where he was pronounced dead.

ALEA said that Troopers with their Highway Patrol Division are continuing the investigation and no other details were immediately available.
