Collaborative procurement can result in a more efficient project for less money. Many contractors use collaborative construction techniques to manage projects more efficiently. Building materials are procured more cheaply and there are combined project meetings between contractors and subcontractors. However, this collaborative approach is not necessarily determined by the type of construction contract existing between the parties and although there are a number of other cooperation contracts, the traditional type of contract is still widely used in Ireland. Alison Bearpark, RDJ Construction Partner, is joined by Joe Salmon, Claims Director at ABB, to discuss some of the collaboration clauses used in partnership agreements, such as information modeling, key performance indicators, and multi-party collaboration.
