The Texas Tech University campus is always under construction. Whether a new athletics facility, a new theater or just the renovation of an existing building, something is always being worked on.
I found the TTU Vision and Planning website, which lists all of the blueprints not only from the TTU but also from Angelo State University and the TTU Health Sciences Centers in Lubbock and El Paso.
Whether you’re a donor or a student and wondering where your money could go in the university, it could fund some of these projects. Your generous contribution could be part of the $ 2,500,000 Sneed Hall bathroom renovation budget.
The new building projects include a multi-purpose music performance facility and a football training facility. These two projects have a combined budget of $ 75,000,000 and cover over 200,000 square feet. Why they’re building another training facility exceeds me, but if it improves the team’s performance at all, then it might be worth it.
The largest budget projects are the renovation of the southern zone of the Jones AT&T Stadium with a budget of $ 50,000,000 and the renovation of the Academic Science Building and Engineering Complex with a budget of $ 131,200,000. These projects are based on a 10 year plan so it will be interesting to see when they are completed and how much budget has actually been used.
This is only a small selection of the planned projects. There are more listed on the website and they say there are others that are not currently listed. It’s crazy how much money the university has for such a building. Much of this is certainly due to the generous donors and alumni who contribute to the expansion of the university.
