The Skills Center, one of the UK’s leading construction training specialists, offers guaranteed training and job interviews at five locations in Greater London, North Kent and the West Midlands.

Thanks to partnerships with major construction companies such as Mace, Wates, Lang O’Rourke, Engie, Galldris, Berkley Group, Keltbray, TfL, Fortel, London Square, OHOB, Morrisroe and Multiplex.

Hundreds of apprenticeship positions are available at five different training centers in Earl’s Court, Gravesend, Southwark, Stratford and West Midlands. The Skills Center is aimed at attracting new people to the construction industry and is aimed at people who are either unemployed or who are earning less than £ 16,000 a year and the training is completely free.

The three-week industry-led construction training program is offered to all applicants, along with a guaranteed interview for working on a range of large construction projects.

Jon Howlin, CEO of The Skills Center, is excited to offer these great training and job opportunities: “We have had amazing success with our recent construction training drive in London, which attracted more than 1,000 people our training program for employers with whom we work on several construction sites.

“There is a massive shortage of construction skilled workers across the UK as the pandemic and Brexit leave many large contractors without the people to meet their needs locally. So it’s great that we offer these free apprenticeships and that we can also attract people without prior knowledge for a new job in the construction industry. “

Jon added, “We are particularly keen to include women in our apprenticeship programs; Diversity is still an area that the industry needs to improve in and it’s a great profession for anyone, with many career opportunities in all areas of construction. Our free training courses are a great first step to a wonderful career.

“What we offer through our partnerships is an opportunity for people from all walks of life to receive free, first-class training with our experienced construction specialists through our location-specific programs. At the end of the day, the applicants are guaranteed an interview and some positions can even become a complete apprenticeship. “

All who complete and pass the three-week course will receive a Green Laborers CSCS card, a Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment, and a Building Health and Safety Certificate (including manual handling).

The initiative is supported by the Construction Skills Fund, founded in October 2018 to train ready-to-build workers for the needs of the construction industry.
