A Yorkshire urban renewer has announced an agreement to encourage the development of homes in the North East.

Leeds-based Muse Developments has signed a contract with Registered Operator 13 to advance production of 75 homes under the £ 300m Northshore regeneration program in Stockton.

Previous stages of development, carried out in collaboration with 13, included a new office building and 35 apartments for affordable rent and shared ownership.

The partnership will submit a planning application in March 2021, which should begin work on site this autumn.

Simon Dew, Development Manager at Muse, commented, “The previous phases of the Home Zone on the North Shore have been very successful and over the past 10 years we have built a vibrant riverside community within walking distance of the city center.

“Delivering this latest phase of homes despite the current challenging times is a significant achievement for everyone involved and we look forward to delivering more high quality, affordable homes near the river.

“We are thrilled to be partnering again with our friends at the age of 13 as we work together to boost the local economy, create opportunities for the local people, and create wealth in the community at a time when most urgently needed. “

Miles Crossley, Land Manager at Thirteen said, “We are very excited to be working with Muse and partners on this exciting development.

“These 75 new homes will not only increase the supply of affordable rental housing on a stunning riverfront, they will also support a new generation of homeowners who also have home ownership available.”
