Worksport Ltd. (NASDAQ:WKSP), a $15.2 million market cap company with 408% revenue growth in the past year, announced Wednesday that a major U.S. construction company will buy its solar tonneau covers and portable energy systems for fleet testing. InvestingPro reports a good balance sheet with more cash than debt.
In a commercial pilot project, the construction company, which operates over 1,000 trucks, will buy two sets of Worksport’s SOLIS solar tonneau covers and COR portable energy systems. The customer will assess these sustainable energy solutions’ construction performance and reliability.
“We believe our COR and SOLIS systems will be an excellent fit for large commercial work fleets,” Worksport CEO Steven Rossi said in a news release.
This is Worksport’s first major project with a large construction client. The construction firm services the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Homeland Security, and Coast Guard, according to the corporation.
The construction company’s innovation department will evaluate the systems’ commercial performance under the arrangement. Worksport said completing this phase might lead to larger orders.
Worksport makes truck tonneau covers, solar integrations, and portable power solutions. Fall 2025 will see the release of SOLIS and COR.
The agreement’s financial parameters and the pilot project’s construction company were not disclosed. InvestingPro’s Fair Value study suggests Worksport is undervalued. InvestingPro subscribers get the full Pro Research Report, 13 ProTips, and complete financial indicators.
Worksport Ltd. reported a 337% year-over-year sales gain of $2.24 million in the first quarter of 2025. Due to rising operating costs, the company lost money despite growth. After Worksport reported record April sales powered by the AL4 tonneau cover, H.C. Wainwright analysts confirmed their Buy recommendation. The company’s ISO 9001:2015 accreditation should open doors to major car OEMs. Worksport will release the SOLIS solar-integrated tonneau cover and COR portable power system later this year. The corporation expects these advances to boost market share and gross margins. Worksport CEO Steven Rossi predicted further growth, citing increased dealer networks and new products. The company wants cash flow breakeven by late 2025 or early 2026 with 25-30% gross margin.

Thieves Break Open ATMs and Take Money With Stolen Construction Excavators
Original Source: Thieves smash open ATM, steal money with stolen construction excavator
An excavator from a Clackamas construction site was used to seize an ATM, break it, and steal the money.
Construction workers said that an excavator from their construction site was stolen and utilized in the robbery at the U.S. Bank on Southeast 117th and Southeast Sunnyside Road around 4 a.m. Monday.
The hefty machinery was used to rebuild Portland’s storm mains. The construction along Southeast 117th Avenue and Sunnyside Road had it Friday night. When the crew returned Monday, it was gone—and they discovered why.
“I was trying to find the equipment,” Civil West Construction lead operator Dan Irby said. “When the sheriff’s deputies asked whether I needed equipment, I responded sure. They told me it was stolen from a bank ATM.”
Irby says the excavator utilizes a universal key to reach the cab but needs a keypad number to start it. Irby claimed the robbers got past the code and messed with the control panel.
“I did notice after looking at the equipment that the fuse panel access board was open,” he stated. “They were able to access the computer and change the operator controls to a John Deere platform, which is completely different than the standard CAT setup we use.”
The damage and what happened startled Irby.
“It takes a lot of guts to do something like that,” he remarked. Simply changing the equipment control panel of the machine to break into that bank was foresight. They damaged the ATM and removed the cash drawers to avoid leaving it in one spot and hauling it away, which is traceable.”
A KGW photojournalist filmed the devastation. The ATM was entirely broken, with bits of the U.S. bank facility spread over the parking area. The criminals abandoned the excavator outside the bank. Irby stated the heavy machinery’s cylinder fractured, rendering it useless.
The theft shut down the building site for the day and delayed work by a week.
“We’re definitely behind, not only with the schedule, but just with the equipment costs and the replacement that it’s gonna be to get the new piece of equipment in and having to start all over and all that,” he said.
KGW contacted the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office for more. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office had not revealed any investigation details or suspects as of Monday afternoon.
HD Hyundai Collaborates with a U.S. Shipbuilder to Construct Ships
Original Source: HD Hyundai Joins Forces with U.S. Shipbuilder for Vessel Construction
HD Hyundai announced a strategic shipbuilding collaboration with Tampa Ship, a prominent U.S. shipyard in the Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) family of firms, to build containerships in the US.
HD Hyundai announced on Saturday, June 21, that it recently signed a strategic and comprehensive collaboration with U.S.-based Tampa Ship LLC, a company within the Edison Chouest Offshore family of affiliated companies (ECO), to build medium-sized LNG dual-fuel containerships at Tampa Ship with first deliveries scheduled for 2028.
HD Hyundai will help Tampa Ship design vessels, buy specialized equipment, and transmit innovative shipbuilding technologies. HD Hyundai will also help build ship blocks and invest in technical infrastructure to improve Tampa Ship.
Tampa Ship, one of five ECO shipyards nationwide, has a long history in U.S. shipbuilding. Tampa Ship can spearhead the resurgence of U.S. commercial shipbuilding and alleviate the scarcity of domestically built vessels with this effort.
In attendance were HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Vice President, Head of Corporate Planning Division Choi Hannae and ECO Executive Vice President Dino Chouest at the signing event on Friday, June 19.
Clarksons Research reports that U.S. yards only received three 3,600 TEU-class containership orders between 2022 and 2024. HD Hyundai and Tampa Ship want to close this deficit and make the US a global shipbuilding power again.
In addition to commercial containerships, the parties expressed interest in working together on other fleet classes and heavy industrial port equipment, which are crucial to maritime security and domestic infrastructure resilience.
“The US is a strong ally and an important business partner for us,” said an HD Hyundai official. “Through our collaboration with ECO, we aim to actively support U.S. efforts to revitalize its shipbuilding industry and strengthen national security.”
HD Hyundai is strengthening its relationship with U.S. maritime and defense players. The company signed agreements with Huntington Ingalls Industries and Fairbanks Morse Defense earlier this year and supports academic partnerships like the University of Michigan and Seoul National University to develop naval architecture and marine engineering talent.
Summary of today’s construction news
In summary, later this year, Worksport is getting ready to introduce new products, such as the COR portable power system and the SOLIS solar-integrated tonneau cover. The business expects these improvements to improve its gross margins and market position.
Meanwhile, tonneau covers, solar integrations, portable power systems, and clean heating and cooling solutions are among the products that the company designs, develops, and owns intellectual property for. Additionally, Worksport is growing its presence in the electric car market and has relationships with major automakers like Hyundai.
On the other hand, due to the theft, the construction project has been delayed by approximately one week, and the site has been closed for the day. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office had not yet disclosed any additional details on the investigation or the identification of any suspects as of Monday afternoon.
Lastly, in order to develop future talent in naval architecture and marine engineering, the company has signed agreements with Huntington Ingalls Industries and Fairbanks Morse Defense earlier this year. It also continues to support academic partnerships, such as those with Seoul National University and the University of Michigan.
